Two second half goals in five minutes from Martijn Reuser and Darren Bent saw Town come from behind to beat Gillingham 2-1 at the Priestfield Stadium. Early in the first period John Hills had put the home side in the lead from the spot in a game played in blustery conditions on a bumpy pitch.

A ten-man Town second string were unlucky not to take all three points from their 1-1 home draw with Leicester City. The Blues numbers were reduced just before half-time when Aidan Collins was harshly sent off by referee Lee who also gave the visitors a highly dubious second half penalty.

An entertaining game at a foggy Fratton Park ended 1-1 after Pompey went one-up in the first half through Svetoslav Todorov before Thomas Gaardsøe headed an equaliser in the second period. Town did well enough to win the game a plethora of chances were wasted, particularly by Pablo Couñago while Chris Makin saw a red card late on.

Town manager Joe Royle has included Jim Magilton in his squad despite the midfielder having missed training this week with a groin problem. Tommy Miller also missed training today but is still likely to be OK for the visit to Fratton Park on Saturday.

Yet another woeful Town display saw a 4,000 strong following return to Suffolk after a defeat to Reading and pondering which manager might be capable enough of turning the club around. Town were two-down after a disastrous first 45 minutes for the team as a whole and for Andy Marshall in particular. A second half fightback was halted when Pablo Couñago was shown a red card.

Town's reserves went top of the FA Premier Reserve League (South) with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea last night. Goals from Darren Ambrose and Matt Robinson took them ahead of Arsenal at the top of the table.
